As I was walking by table 1, Al Riccobono (Ossining, NY) was pulling a big pot and a player at the other end of the table was walking away. As he was stacking those chips, I got the story. The departed player had been raising a lot and had opened for 4,100. Al flat-called from the big blind with pocket Aces.
The flop came 9 7 5 -- all hearts -- and Al held the Ace of hearts for the nut-flush draw. He checked, his opponent bet 6k, Al check-raised to 15k, the other player shoved and Al called. His opponent held two black 8s and was drawing slim to the only remaining 8 that wasn't a heart or a 6 that isn't a heart to fill his gutshot. None of his outs appeared on the turn or river and he was dispatched. Al chipped up to ~120k.
Adina Winston
Adam Lippert is up to ~120k. Ted Geier is up to ~135k. But it is Adina Winston (NYC) who is the chip leader. She's currently up to about 163k.
Eight tables remain.
