$2000 +$150 Heads Up Double Elimination NL
Unlike the car insurance ads where 15 minutes can save you money, it's the amount of time Marc Davis feels like he lost $25,000. During the first level in the Losers Bracket Semifinals (3rd/4th place match), Davis is holding A♥ A♦ when he loses to Tim Tuveson's trip fours while holding 6♦ 4♦.
"I'm a little disappointed," said Davis who finished fourth for $8,730. "I felt I could have gone deeper and made a run at it," he says referring to the Heads Up title and the nearly $35,000 first prize, which would have earned him approximately another $25,000.
Here's how the hand played out:
Tuveson opens for 275
Davis raises to 800
Davis calls
Flop: K♦ 10♦ 4♥ (Tuveson pair of 4s and flush draw/Davis pair of aces)
Davis bets 1k
Tuveson raises to 2,900
Davis calls
Turn: 4♠ (Tuveson trip fours/Davis pair of aces)
Davis checks
Tuveson bets 4,950
Davis jams
Tuveson calls
Davis needs an ace on the river, but Tuveson fades the two outer to win the match in 15 minutes.
Tuveson is now set to face Lior Barlev in the Winners Bracket final.
