$170 + $30 Deep Stack Double Play NLH (2 Re-entry)
After lamenting how much he hates the bubble and surviving an all-in without a call, Russell Youngken (Levittown, PA) is back in the fire, but this time Dom Pelli (Stamford, CT) doesn't bail him out.
Youngken and Pelli see a flop of 5 6 9 and Pelli, who folded to Youngken's all-in bet a few hands earlier, bets 10k. "After he checked, I didn't think he hit that board," says Pelli, who's a businessman and three-year-old poker player.
Youngken smooth calls and they see a queen on the turn. That's when Youngken moves all-in for his last 15k and Pelli snap calls.
Youngken: JJ (pair of jacks)
Pelli: AQ (pair of queens)
The river is a brick and Youngken is out in 19th place, sending the remaining 18 players into the money. "If he shoves on the flop, I fold," says Pelli who takes his stack to more than 190k and the chip lead. "Actually, I should've had him earlier with ace-king, but I folded. But not this time."
Players are guaranteed $713 and are bagging and tagging for the night. The field returns 1 pm Wednesday for a shot at the $14,259 first prize.
