Free-Rolling Stoner Gutted by Gavin

Borgata Winter Poker Open Championship

After the small blind shoved for ~300k, Osagyefo Greene called from the big blind, showing AK off.  The small blind was dominated with A8 off.

The board came K 5 2 6 3 and another player hit the rail.  With that pot, Greene chipped up to close to 1 million.

John Myung (Vienna, VA) busted out in 55th place.

Fritz Stoner, who won his seat in this event via the Borgata online contest (and hence was free-rolling) moved in for his last 47k utg.  Action folded around to Osagyefo Greene on the button who gave it some thought, but opted out.

Gavin Smith took a look and made the call from the small blind.  Matt 'muffins' Mazzeo (big blind) also opted out.

Fritz held K7 off and was trailing Gavin's A9 off.  The flop came T 6 5 and changed nothing.  Turn was an 8, which gave Fritz an open-ended draw and gave Gavin a gutshot.  River was a 7, which improved Fritz to a pair but completed the straight for Gavin, who took the pot.

The free-rolling Stoner finished in 53rd place, taking home $8,504!

Table 7 has broken and Roz Quarto landed at table 4 with Matt Mazzeo, Nick Ricciardi, Osagyefo Greene, and Gavin Smith.

52 players remain.
