Simon Potens of Frankfurt, Germany, must be living right. He was all-in holding pocket Queens on a flop of 5 4 2 against Kim Findura (Butler, NJ) who had flopped a set of deuces. It looked like Simon would soon be looking for something else to do, but the last two cards came 4 Q and Simon caught a 2-outer on the river to survive. The stacks were close and had to be counted down and as it turned out, Simon had Kim covered. She was relegated to the rail while Simon doubled up.
Simon Potens
Back home in Germany, Simon is self-employed in promotions. He came all the way across the pond just to play tournaments for fun. We'll see if it pays off for him.
As the last few minutes before the dinner break ticked away, Kevin Farry was standing on the rail waiting for his friend. Kevin came down from Pearl River, NY to play some tournaments, but he has already busted out of this one. He's waiting for his friend, Bob Hinkel, to go to dinner. Bob is still in the tournament, but looking a little short.
Kevin works for Turner Construction back in New York, where they are currently working on Madison Square Garden. Bob's from New York City, but doesn't work per se. Kevin calls him an 'International World Traveler'. Bob has to return from dinner at 8:30pm to resume play. Kevin will be looking for something else to do.
